Introduction: The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (IORG) is a non-profit service organization dedicated to girls between the ages of 11-21 years. Orange Assembly #86 has a growing membership of active girls. Our main goal is community service. So far, our Assembly has helped out our local Ronald McDonald House by making all sorts of food for the families that stay there. We have also collected aluminum cans and donated over 100 dollars to the Surf Rider foundation. In our recent service endeavors, we have made fleece hats for Cancer patients and quilts to donate to the Auther Read Memorial hospital.
Our Grand Service Project, a State wide Charity service project, which all the Rainbow Girls of California do fundraisers to make money to donate to this Charity. It is the Dogs 4 Diabetics (D4D), an innovated non-profit organization that provides quality medical-alert service dogs to youth and adults who are insulin-dependant diabetics through a program of training, placement, and follow up services. D4D dogs have been specifically trained to identify and act upon subtle scent changes that hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) creates in body chemistry--changes undetectable to to their human companions. To find out more, visit "DOGS 4 DIABETICS".
